You will study the Engineering and Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering followed by both the Robitics and Electronic Engineering occupational specialisms.
Mechanical design methodologies
Tools, materials and equipment used in mechanical engineering
CAD and engineering drawings
Designing, developing and testing prototypes
Analysing engineering requirements and evaluating systems.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering Specialism (Year 2)
Design methodologies for electrical and electronic systems
Electrical drawings, schematics and industry conventions
Designing and testing electronic models and prototypes
Diagnostics, evaluation and verification.
Entry requirements
GCSE Grade 5 or above including Maths, English and Science.
Future career and study opportunities
You can progress tohHigher and degree apprenticeships, engineering-related university degrees and employment as an engineering technician in mechanical or electrical/electronic roles.
Work experience/Careers Extra
All students are expected to complete 315 hours work experience in an engineering environment.
