Film and Television Production BA (Hons) Top-Up

This is a vocational, accredited, one-year industry-standard course, designed for people with a genuine passion for Film and Television. You will study at our state-of-the-art Institute of Technology

This degree will allow you to explore a range of genres including documentary, drama and entertainment, as you develop professional skills in single and multi-camera productions. Exciting and highly practical, this course will give you the opportunity to produce short films and television programmes in all areas of broadcast – including streaming platforms, high end television drama, factual and multi-camera studio production. You will gain specialist skills, as well as a firm grounding in each stage of the production process, from initial script writing, research and pre-production through to shooting, to post-production.

You will have lessons and take part in workshops to develop your practical and theoretical skills. You will complete a final, major project demonstrating these skills, which will include image production and the ability to work in a team. You will also develop your analytical skills and deeper understanding of video/film production – fully preparing you for a successful career in this exciting industry.

As part of this, you will have access to professional filmmaking equipment including: a custom-built film studio featuring two infinity coves, green and white, a range of editing software, professional cinema cameras, microphones, audio recorders, LED lighting, Tracks, cranes, sliders, and gimbals.

Entry requirements

A Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) or Level 5 Foundation Degree in a related subject (you must have achieved a total of 240 credits to be considered)
