Entry Requirements: Apprentices must be employed within a relevant job role to undertake the programme. Employers will set entry criteria for their apprenticeship vacancies.

 

If you do not already hold a minimum GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths or equivalent you will be required to study functional skills in these areas as part of your apprenticeship.

Course Overview:

For individuals wanting to begin a career within the Engineering industry. There are two pathways available, Machining and Maintenance, Maintenance Engineering including mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, interpreting documents and drawings, Machining will include using CNC machine tools such as centre lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, horizontal and cylindrical grinding machines. Setting up, operating and adjust/edit equipment settings as applicable to the machine tool being used.

Apprentices will achieve the following qualifications as part of their programme: 

  • A Level 2 Foundation Competence Qualification 

  • A Level 3 Development Technical Competence Qualification 

  • A Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge Qualification.

You can progress onto a Higher Level Apprenticeship or Foundation Degree Course
