Healthcare Assistant Practitioner Level 5 Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is aimed at people already employed within the Health and Social care sector, who are looking to upskill and train to become a qualified Healthcare Assistant Practitioner.

You will be providing, supervising and co-ordinating high-quality and compassionate Health and Social Care for various people, and will achieve a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care.

Delivery and assessment

This apprenticeship will take around 24 months, depending on the needs of both you and your employer.

Entry requirements

You must be working in a relevant job role to undertake this programme and employers will set the specific entry requirements.

If you have a current Personal Learning Record (PLR)*, this will be used to establish your eligibility for this apprenticeship programme.

The entry requirements for this apprenticeship are:

English; GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent

Maths; GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent

You will be required to undertake an End Point Assessment, which will consist of a multiple-choice test, an observation of practice, a reflective journal and interview.

*PLR is a permanent online record of your qualifications, held by the Department for Education, launched in January 2009. If you achieved your qualifications prior to this date and no longer have your certificates or studied with an organisation based outside of the UK, a suitable assessment process will be undertaken to establish your eligibility for the programme.

With this foundation degree and experience, you will be able to access higher-level employment opportunities and or management qualifications.
