The teaching methods employed on the programme are designed to gradually develop students’ approach to learning. Students learn about a wide range of professional and transferable skills, including professional behaviours needed in the workplace, as well as application of academic skills to the workplace. Teaching strategies will include face-to face sessions and blended learning approaches including for the delivery of lectures, seminar discussions and group work. Students will also produce practical tasks such as digital artefacts to enhance their skills. Learning will also be facilitated through use of the College Moodle/Teams platform where students can access resources and submit assessments, as well as participate in discussion.
Assessment outcomes are developed over time, encouraging students to reflect on their progress and develop their own technical skills and techniques. The assignments on this course are designed to provide a balance between written reports and demonstrations of other relevant skills. Central to the student’s development on the course is the continuous formative feedback, both from peers and tutors, as ideas are conceived, work is designed and planned. Students work in an environment which seeks to mirror that of a modern workplace, and are supported to develop the attitudes, skills and attributes needed to work in an agile industry alongside other professionals.
